Fume Hood Certifications per the manufacturer’s specifications and ANSI/ASHRAE 110

At HPI, we have CETA and NSF accredited technicians available for certifications. All fume hoods will be certified to the manufacturer’s specifications and accomplished in accordance with the most current version of the ANSI/ASHRAE 110.

Primary tests

• inflow face velocity test

• airflow smoke pattern test

These provide a qualitative analysis of air capture at the face of the unit, thus demonstrating the unit's exposure prevention effectiveness and ensuring operator safety.

How often should a Fume Hood be certified?

• Per OSHA, fume hood testing should be conducted on an annual basis at a minimum.

• Certification is required at installation and after any major changes or relocation.
